Our STORY

Hughsie FC were set up by Phil Skayman in memory of Adam in 2010. Hughsie FC have played in over 600 matches across all formats of the game. The club currently have 3 FA affiliated teams and over 120 players associated with these teams

Today we have raised over £44,000 for Charity and Community groups including SADS

SADS charity provides research and medical equipment to prevent sudden cardiac death.

Thanks to the charity's campaigning, it is now pending law to have defibrillators in all public spaces.

Anne Jolly, mbe.

Founder of SADS UK

SADS UK is pleased to be Charity Partner to Hughsie FC 11-a-side charity football team formed in memory of friend and Captain Adam Hughes who tragically passed away in 2009 aged just 25 from SADS (Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome).

We are very grateful to the team for their significant commitment and effort in raising awareness and funds for SADS UK which alongside the charity matches they play, have also included Phil Skayman running the London Marathon in 2019.

More recently Phil, Jamie and Adam trekking for 3 weeks in the Himalayas to reach the base of Mount Everest.

Since Adam’s tragic death in 2009 Phil Skayman and Adam’s friends and family have raised over £10,000 for SADS UK.   The funds raised to date have enabled SADS UK to continue our vital work and support research projects which underpin the understanding of how to prevent tragic young sudden death. SADS UK  looks forward to continuing to support Hughsie FC.  We are proud that the team kit displays the SADS UK logo.   It’s a pleasure to work with Phil Skayman and Hughsie FC, their enthusiasm and energy is inspirational and is testament to how much Adam is loved and missed.

"SADS UK is pleased to have been able to sponsor the Hughsie FC website and are very grateful to everyone involved for the knid support and funds raised to date in memory of Adam Hughes"
